What a year this has been! Let me start off be saying what a wonderful God that we serve. He is faithful in everything, big or small. It's amazing that when you feel like you have hit the end of the rope that God gives you the ability to keep on moving. I have always been a strong believer that God won't give us what we can't handle, but I have definitely wavered on that this year.
Let's go over the major events:
-last October, I had major knee surgery and was non-weight bearing for 8 weeks. This made working a challenge
-December, we found out that we were going to be parents! What an amazing opportunity that we weren't sure could happen!
-January, Dustin started a new job and new stresses that come with that
-February and March, put on bed rest for 1-2 weeks at a time due to complications of pregnancy
-April, bought and moved into our first home
-May, officially on bed rest
-June, emergency c-section and met the most beautiful little girl ever!!! Also, dealt with complications from the birth.
-July, Kyndall came home after being in the NICU for almost 4 weeks
-August, trying to figure out this whole parenting thing with a high risk infant
-September, coping with going back to work
-October, knee surgery #5 with complications and return to work (more on that later when I am able to talk about it)
Even now as I am writing this, I am waiting to hear about my dad who was rushed to the ER earlier with a possible heart attack. He ended up having to have a stent put in.
I feel like there have been many times over the past year that I could throw my hands up in the air and ask why, completely justified. But then after my tantrum I look at all that I have...an amazing husband who has been there to hold me up when I was unable and the most incredible daughter. So, I choose to look at life this way: the fight to have and keep Kyndall alive has made me a better mother, 5 knee surgeries and health complications has made me a better more relatable therapist, and encountering struggles has made me a more resilient (some may call it stubborn) child of God. So I challenge anyone that reads this, don't let Satan use circumstances to destroy you but use those circumstances to become a stronger child of God.
